The Eicosanoid Research Foundation and the 12th International Conference on Bioactive Lipids in Cancer, Inflammation and Related Diseases is pleased to announce that Dr. Bengt Samuelsson has been selected as the first recipient of Foundation’s Extraordinary Discoveries Award.
It should also be noted that Dr. Samuelsson was one of three recipients who shared the 1982 Nobel Prize in medicine for their work on prostaglandins, specifically the discovery of prostanoids and leukotrienes
Dr. Samuelsson will deliver the opening lecture and will receive his award during the inaugural session of the 12th International Conference on Bioactive Lipids in Cancer, Inflammation and Related Diseases at the Westin Seattle Hotel in Seattle, Washington on September 18, 2011.
